Step 1: Diagnosis & Consultation
Your endodontist examines the tooth, reviews digital X-rays, and determines if root canal is needed. We discuss the procedure, anesthesia options, and answer all your questions.
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Step 2: Local Anesthesia
We apply topical gel to numb the area, then administer local anesthesia. You'll feel completely comfortable throughout the procedure. Modern anesthetics ensure minimal discomfort.
Duration: 5-10 minutes
Step 3: Access & Cleaning
A small opening is made in the tooth. Using rotary instruments, we remove infected pulp, clean, and shape the root canals. Irrigation solutions disinfect the canals.
Duration: 30-60 minutes
Step 4: Filling the Canals
The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha. A temporary filling is placed to protect the tooth.
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Step 5: Crown Placement
In most cases, a crown is recommended to protect the restored tooth. This is usually done in a separate appointment after the tooth has healed.
Duration: 2 appointments
